Why Measure Up?

You will be given nutritional and health  information so you can make informed decisions to change your life.

In 2005, 7.4 million Australian adults (or 1 in 2) were overweight or obese. Irrespective of your height or build, if your waistline is getting  bigger it could mean you are at increased risk of developing heart disease.

These risks include cancer, heart disease and type 2 diabetes.

Measuring  your waistline is simple

  • Measure directly against your skin
  • Breathe out normally
  • Make sure the tape is snug, without compressing the skin
  • Measure halfway between your lowest rib and the top of yourhipbone, roughly in line with your belly button
